Invest NI has maintained an office presence in Derry since 2006, previously operating from Timber Quay.

Following Ulster University’s purchase of Timber Quay, the agency began looking for a new location.

The Ebrington office will serve as a regional base for supporting businesses, engaging with investors and encouraging economic activity across the North West.

Minister highlights regional investment opportunities

Dr Archibald said strengthening Invest NI’s regional network was an important part of her Sub-Regional Economic Plan.

The Minister welcomed the appointment of Aeidin McCarter to lead Invest NI’s North West region and said the new office would make the organisation more accessible to local businesses.

Invest NI Chief Executive Kieran Donoghue also highlighted the agency’s efforts to increase investment and support jobs outside the Belfast Metropolitan Area.

More than £80 million of investment supported

According to Invest NI, the organisation supported 263 projects in the North West during the previous year.

Those projects are expected to generate more than £80 million in investment and create over 400 jobs.

The agency says the new regional office will provide a base for continued engagement with businesses and potential inward investors.

The opening is planned for the new year, although an exact date has not been announced.
