Man arrested in Liverpool charged with Robert Lawlor’s murder

A 41-year-old man arrested in Liverpool has been charged with the murder of Robert Lawlor, who was shot dead in north Belfast in 2020.

The man was arrested by Merseyside Police on Wednesday, 23 September, and brought to Northern Ireland for questioning. The PSNI confirmed the charges on Thursday evening. 

Robert Lawlor murder charge

Mr Lawlor was shot dead outside a house in Etna Drive on 4 April 2020.

As well as murder, the man has been charged with possessing a firearm or ammunition with intent to endanger life or cause serious damage to property. He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 25 September. The charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
