PSNI recruitment campaign launches with £35,000 starting salary
The Police Service of Northern Ireland has launched a new recruitment campaign offering prospective student officers a starting salary of approximately £35,000.

The campaign opened on Monday 12 October as the organisation marks its 25th anniversary.
It aims to attract applicants from a wide range of backgrounds and communities across Northern Ireland.
PSNI recruitment offers degree opportunities
Successful applicants will receive comprehensive training and ongoing professional development.
New officers will also have the opportunity to work towards a degree in criminology and policing through Ulster University while continuing to earn a salary.
Chief Constable Jon Boutcher said the organisation wanted to attract people who were committed to making a positive difference within their communities.
He highlighted the variety of work undertaken by police officers and the opportunities available for career development.
Experienced officers encouraged to transfer
Alongside the student officer recruitment campaign, the PSNI has reopened its Transferee Scheme.
The scheme allows serving officers from other police services to apply to transfer to Northern Ireland.
Mr Boutcher said he particularly wanted to encourage officers who had previously joined police services elsewhere because recruitment opportunities were unavailable in Northern Ireland.
Further PSNI jobs opening in October and November
The PSNI has also confirmed recruitment dates for two additional roles.
Applications for call handler positions will open on Monday 19 October.
Recruitment for administrative support officers will begin on Monday 9 November.
The organisation said the roles were important in supporting frontline policing and delivering essential services across Northern Ireland.
Justice Minister welcomes recruitment campaign
Justice Minister Naomi Long welcomed the announcement.
She said maintaining adequate police numbers remained a priority and highlighted work undertaken by the Department of Justice and PSNI to develop a workforce recovery plan.
Northern Ireland Policing Board Chair Brendan Mullan also encouraged applications from people across all communities.
The student officer recruitment campaign will be promoted through television, print, digital and social media advertising over the coming seven weeks.
Applications can be submitted through the PSNI’s recruitment website.
