The new weekly service will connect Belfast with Bourgas on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast, giving Northern Ireland holidaymakers another destination for summer breaks.

Flights will operate every Wednesday from 5 July until 4 October 2028.

The announcement forms part of Jet2’s summer 2028 programme, with 21 destinations, up to 56 departing flights per week during peak periods and more than 618,000 seats now on sale from Belfast International Airport.

New direct flights to Bulgaria

The new Bourgas route will provide access to Bulgaria’s Black Sea resorts, including Sunny Beach and the historic town of Nessebar, which is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Jet2 says the new route will be exclusive to its Belfast International Airport programme for summer 2028.

Twenty-one destinations available from Belfast

Alongside Bulgaria, Jet2’s summer 2028 programme includes flights to destinations across Spain, Portugal, Greece, Türkiye, Croatia, Cyprus, Italy and Malta.

He said: “We are already hearing from customers asking when they can book for Summer 2028, so we’ve responded by putting the programme on sale nice and early.”

He added that early bookings give customers a greater choice of hotels and accommodation, particularly for family rooms and rooms with sea views.

The summer 2028 programme will also coincide with Jet2’s 25th anniversary.

Customers booking Jet2holidays packages can secure their holiday with a £60 per person deposit, with interest-free monthly payment options available.

Jet2 says its package holidays include ATOL protection, airport transfers and a range of accommodation options.

The new Belfast–Bourgas flights are scheduled to begin on Wednesday 5 July 2028.
