Three men sought after early-morning robbery at south Belfast petrol station

Police are appealing for information after three men robbed a petrol station in south Belfast in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The incident happened at a petrol station in the Tate’s Avenue area at around 6.20am on Tuesday, 6 October.

Staff member threatened

Detectives said three men entered the premises, with one of them reported to be armed with a screwdriver.

A member of staff was threatened and the men demanded that the contents of the till were handed over.

The three men then left the petrol station and made off on bicycles in the direction of Broadway.

Police said the staff member was not injured during the incident but was left badly shaken.

Police issue descriptions

One of the men was described as wearing light grey bottoms and a two-tone grey coat.

A second was dressed entirely in blue, while the third was reported to have been wearing a dark grey tracksuit with black sleeves.

Detective Sergeant Sands has appealed for anyone who saw the men in the Tate’s Avenue or Broadway areas, or who has information that could assist the investigation, to contact detectives.
