Man arrested after drugs and fireworks seized in north Belfast searches
Police have arrested a 23-year-old man following a series of searches across north Belfast in which suspected drugs worth more than £5,000 were recovered.
The operation took place on Tuesday, September 29, with officers carrying out four searches at properties in the New Lodge, Shankill and Ardoyne areas.
Class A, B and C drugs recovered
The PSNI said suspected Class A, Class B and Class C controlled drugs were seized during the searches, along with drugs paraphernalia and a number of other items.
A quantity of fireworks was also recovered.
Police have estimated the suspected drugs have a combined street value of more than £5,000.
The seized items have been taken away for further forensic examination.
23-year-old arrested
A 23-year-old man was arrested as part of the investigation on suspicion of a number of drugs offences, including possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply.
Inspector Matt Adams said the searches formed part of a proactive policing operation and said information supplied to police could help officers take action against those involved in the drugs trade.
Police have appealed for anyone with information about suspected drug dealing or supply to contact officers on 101 or through the PSNI’s online reporting service.
Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers.
