The “Boots & Ballgowns” event will bring together supporters from across Northern Ireland’s water industry, following a fundraising total of more than £120,000 at last year’s ball.

Organised by volunteers on the WaterAid NI Committee, the evening will support the charity’s “Agents of Change” project.

Cool FM broadcaster Rebecca McKinney will host the event, with entertainment including line dancing led by Country Fringe and music from country singer Robert Mizzell.

Guests are invited to combine cowboy boots with ballgowns and black-tie clothing for the themed fundraiser.

The evening will also feature fundraising activities and prizes.

Dr Sara Venning, WaterAid NI President and chief executive of NI Water, thanked the committee, sponsors and supporters for their contribution.

She said: “Together, we can make a real and lasting difference by helping WaterAid to change the world through water.”

Supporting clean water projects in Rwanda

Funds raised will support access to clean water, sanitation services and hygiene education in schools, healthcare facilities and communities in Rwanda.

The “Agents of Change” project also helps young people become advocates for improvements within their schools and wider communities.

This year’s platinum sponsor is Lowry, which is marking 50 years of working in the water industry.

Director Ian Lowry said the company was pleased to support the event and the charity’s work in Rwanda, highlighting the importance of clean water and sanitation to public health and quality of life.
